Inventory Audit Trail
Overview
The Inventory Audit Trail gives operators a clear sequence of stock changes.
Use it when inventory counts shift unexpectedly or when you need evidence for disputes, audits, or daily reconciliation.
When to use it
- On-hand changed but the physical count is not explained.
- You need to separate sales movement from manual adjustments.
- You are validating intake updates before purchasing or returning stock.
How to use it
- Open Inventory, then open Audit.
- Search for the product and confirm filters are clear.
- Review entries by movement type: intake, adjustment, sale.
- Compare before/after quantities for each movement.
- Identify the first event that explains the delta.
- Open nearby sales lines if needed to match customer activity.
- Note who made adjustments and when if you need follow-up.
Options and settings
- Filters for date range, movement type, and product.
- Sorting by newest-first or oldest-first for your reconciliation flow.
Tips for operators
- Start from the newest entries and move backward.
- If stock drops with no sales events, look for adjustments and approval status first.
- Confirm correct role access before sharing audit evidence.
